The AOS, KSEPS, MoSEPS, and OAO invite you to participate in the 2011 Table Rock Regional Roundup.  This four-state regional conference is scheduled for Thursday through Saturday, September 22 through 24, at the beautiful Big Cedar Lodge just outside Branson, Missouri.

This annual conference attracts physicians from our four states and elsewhere to enjoy a top-quality ophthalmology conference in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.

  • safely organize coordinated care with co-managing providers;
  • identify causes of delay in diagnosis of retinal detachment;
  • construct protocols for avoidance of wrong-site surgery in cataract/IOL procedures;
  • review research projects of regional ophthalmology residents;
  • evaluate glaucoma visual fields utilizing an efficient classification system;
  • explain management and treatment of Age-Related Macular Degeneration;
  • employ treatment strategies for optic neuritis secondary to MS;
  • assess astigmatism after cataract surgery;
  • distinguish the proper intervention for various intraocular tumors;
  • describe implementation duties for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act which are under the purview of the state;
  • describe implementation strategies being undertaken by the four states in the region; and
  • recognize programs available to AAO members and their patients to advance patient care.

  • review strategies to manage physician-industry relationships and prevent conflicts of interest;
  • solve ethical conflicts while delivering needed care;
  • recognize conflicts between clinical needs and economic pressures;
  • explain AAO Code of Ethics Rule 16 on Expert Witness Testimony;
  • identify potential stumbling blocks when considering expert witness testimony;
  • review current treatment options for Retinopathy of Prematurity;
  • describe treatment in cases of infantile capillary hemangiomas;
  • integrate simpler techniques in strabismus surgery;
  • describe the use of refractive surgery in cases of anisometropic amblyopia;
  • review the background and nature of EHR implementation incentives;
  • explain the steps to obtain and implement an EHR system effectively and with as little disruption as possible; and
  • construct strategies to integrate voice recognition into EHR.
